The Problem
Data exists, but operators can’t reach it
On debris programs with multiple active streams, the underlying data systems often work correctly. Parcel tracking, waterway site data, citizen case management all function. But the people who need to act on that data cannot access it effectively. Program managers need jurisdiction-level summaries. Case workers need to triage individual records with map context. Leadership needs at-a-glance operational status.
Standard ArcGIS dashboards lack the layout flexibility to embed Survey123 forms for inline editing. Existing web maps do not provide filtered, role-appropriate views. Every audience looks at the same raw map and draws their own conclusions, or asks GIS staff to run manual queries.
Our Approach
Purpose-built interfaces for each operator role
We build Experience Builder applications specifically for their layout flexibility: the ability to embed Survey123 forms alongside maps and feature tables in the same interface. Case workers can view a record on the map, see its attributes in a table, and edit it via an embedded form without switching applications.
Arcade expressions power dynamic indicator widgets showing pipeline stage counts, jurisdiction rollups, and stalled-case alerts. Cross-filtering connects map, table, and indicator widgets so selecting a jurisdiction updates all components simultaneously. Different page views serve different user roles without duplicating the underlying data.
Types of Interfaces We Build
Program Management Views
Overview dashboards showing parcels or sites color-coded by pipeline stage. Jurisdiction-level summary indicators, cross-filtered attribute tables, and embedded reassessment forms. Designed as the primary daily-use interface for program managers tracking progress across multiple jurisdictions.
Cross-filtering · Embedded Survey123 · Arcade Indicators
Multi-Source Operations Views
Unified views showing site or parcel data consolidated from multiple external sources. Status-based symbology, basin or zone-level filtering, and jurisdiction summary widgets that pull from automated consolidation pipelines rather than manually compiled data.
Dynamic Symbology · Zone Filtering · Jurisdiction Rollups
Case Triage Interfaces
Triage and case tracking for staff processing citizen requests or field reports. Map view with clustering, attribute table with sort, filter, and search, and embedded contact log or status update forms. Connected to Power Automate for team notifications on new submissions.
Case Triage · Embedded Forms · Search/Filter
Contractor Coordination Apps
Coordination interfaces for contractors requesting property access for equipment staging, documenting ingress and egress routes, and tracking approval status. Embedded request forms, status tracking, and map-based visualization of approved access points.
Contractor Coordination · Access Management · Route Visualization
Why Experience Builder Over Standard Dashboards
Embedded Form Editing: Experience Builder allows embedding Survey123 forms within the same interface as map and table widgets. Operators edit records without leaving the dashboard, a capability standard ArcGIS dashboards lack.
Layout Flexibility: Custom page layouts with responsive sections, tabbed views for different user roles, and full control over widget placement that Dashboard’s rigid grid system cannot accommodate.
Arcade Expressions: Dynamic calculated fields and indicator values computed client-side without additional feature services. Pipeline stage counts, percentage calculations, and conditional formatting driven by live data.
Cross-Filtering: Selecting features on the map filters the attribute table and updates indicator widgets. All widgets stay in sync, giving operators a cohesive view from any entry point.
Multi-Page Applications: Single application URL with multiple page views for different user roles. Program managers, case workers, and leadership each see their own interface without maintaining separate applications.
Shared Web Maps: Symbology, pop-up configuration, and layer visibility are consistent across all applications. Changes to the underlying web map propagate automatically to all Experience Builder views.
